Getting disillusioned already. Then we stumbled on the Port Douglas Motel. Each had consulted the thesaurus to add to dramatic superlatives of their properties. On this visit the big decision was where to stay. Wouldn't deter us staying here again though!!Īlso the reception area has a great range of travel brochures which came in handy.īatemans Bay, Australia177 contributions141 helpful votesRemnant of a missed era.ģ5 years passed since my last vist to Port. If I had the option I would have just parked out the front for the day rather than maneuver the parking everytime we went out. A few nights other guests had big 4wd's and we could barely get in/out of the parking. It seems everyone reverses into them so its easy to just drive out but there isn't much room to move. If I had to pick on something I would say the parking is quiet tight. We grabbed a few towels from reception upon arrival for the pool. You could pay another $6 to put it all through the dryer but was a nice day.

Did a load of washing ($6) and hung it out on the line behind the laundry to dry. Also a cupboard which contained saucepans, baking dishes, chopping boards, kitchen utensils and anything else you may need for cooking. The kitchen is amazing!! BBQ and stove with a large bench area. The pool was a good size considering the size of the accommodation. Air conditioning in the room didn't miss a beat and we had it going 24/7 along with a ceiling fan. Shower had wall mounted Shampoo/Condition/Body wash that all smelt lovely. Decent size room with enough space for us to be more than comfortable. Extremely tidy room (we were upstairs) and had a King and Single bed. Recently stayed here for the week and what an awesome little place!! Location is great with a 2 minute walk to the town centre.
